Bellybinding (materials + demo)
BellyBinding is a practice to help a postpartum women's belly for physical support and to help hasten the recovery process after childbirth. This ancient traditional binding technique uses a long strip of cloth to wrap around around the abdomen from the hips to the ribcage. The thought process is to bring and/or rather "bind" together the vital women's internal reproductive organs post-baby in order for everything that was shifted during pregnancy will fuse back easier and faster with the wrapping.
Though this is not necessarily medically approved, this practice has been going on for centuries used by many cultures. This wrap is most beneficial when used semi-immediately day 5/6 or at least 2 weeks post-delivery. It should be worn daily for 10-12 hours a day for at least 40 days or longer.
For those who have and/or had C-sections should wait at least until the incision is mostly healed before they are wrapped or use an additional layer of cloth vertically across the scar before wrapping. The wrap will provide the comfort of abdominal support since the muscles, ligaments, tissues, and the incision itself is tender and numb post-delivery. Each wrap is misted with Rose water and Frankincense Essential Oil which is antiseptic and good for reducing scar thickness if any.
